International Rotary Youth Exchange is currently on hold due to the global covid-19 pandemic.
Our exchange records in District 9640 date back to 1982. From 1982 to 2020 in District 9640 we have exchanged more than 1,650 students on long term exchanges around the world, including more than 862 students on outbound exchanges, and hosting more than 762 students on inbound exchanges to Australia. Check out the map below to see where some of our outbound students have been to on exchange!

Some of the countries we have exchanged with are:
Argentina | France | Norway | Taiwan |
Austria | Germany | The Netherlands | Thailand |
Belgium | Hungary | Philippines | UK |
Brazil | Iceland | Russia | USA |
Canada | Indonesia | South Africa | Zimbabwe |
Denmark | Italy | Spain | |
Ecuador | Japan | Sweden | |
Finland | Mexico | Switzerland |
Currently Rotary Youth Exchange Australia maintains hosting arrangements with over 30 countries worldwide. When we resume long term international exchanges, countries we plan to exchange with include the following, but this can change from year to year: Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, France, Italy, Korea, India, Switzerland, Canada, the USA and more.
Students have the opportunity to nominate a preferred country of exchange that is available to our district. However, as there are limited places in any one country, a preparedness to accept an exchange in any of the other available countries is necessary.
The District committee decides the final country of destination.
