Note that if you are applying for a short or long term exchange it is mandatory that you attend all required orientation camps – a failure to do so will mean the cancellation of your exchange. Requests to not attend because of sporting games, dance recitals, family holidays or other extracurricular activities will not be granted.
A typical long term exchange calendar is:
- Applications close at the end March of the year preceding the exchange year. Check the application page or social media for specific dates.
- Interviews are undertaken in April and May.
- Students are selected by June.
- The first orientation camp takes place in August, attended by both short and long term outbound students.
- The second orientation camp takes place in late November attended by all long term outbound students.
- Students generally depart and return in mid-January.
- All students attend a rebound camp in February/
A typical short term (STEP) exchange calendar is:
- January Applications open.
- March: students are selected and matched with their exchange buddy.
- June-August: Inbound students from Germany and Indonesia are hosted.
- October/November – December/January: Outbound students travel to their destination country for their exchange.
- February: Argentinian outbounds attend orientation camp with their inbound buddy (optional, at own cost).
